ROME – Salmo and Zucchero “Sugar” Fornaciari get back together for “Overdose d’amore 2024” (EMI / Universal Music Italia – Columbia / Sony Music Italy), the rapper’s version of the famous song by Zucchero. The song will be available digitally from tomorrow, Friday 14 June, and on radio from 21 June.
“Overdose d’amore 2024” is the fruit of the consolidated relationship between the two artists in recent years, characterized by deep mutual respect. The original idea of reimagining the famous song “Overdose (D’Amore)”, which this year celebrates 35 years since its publication, came from Salmo and immediately captured Zucchero’s attention and enthusiasm .

“Salmo is a phenomenon – says Zucchero – Not only for the artist he is, but as a person: intelligent, fast, frank, truthful, ironic and a great communicator. I recognize myself in him, in what he writes and thinks and I am grateful to him for the tributes he has dedicated to me, first with ‘Diavolo in Me’ and now with ‘Overdose (D’Amore)’. Thank you my friend”.
Animated by the great desire to have fun and create something together once again, after having shared the stage several times, Salmo and Zucchero combined their energies and their creative flair, giving life to a new version of ” Overdose (D’Amore)” which represents the perfect fusion of their unique styles and artistic personalities.
“I am very happy with this collaboration. Zucchero is an incredible artist, throughout his career he has written timeless songs and has worked with artists all over the world. I have great respect of him and I am grateful for the strong artistic and human feeling that was created right away – declares Salmo – We celebrated New Year’s Eve together in Olbia and they were wonderful days in friendship, I find that we are very similar – in the studio and in life – and who knows what other projects we could build. ‘Overdose (D’Amore)’ is still very relevant today after 35 years, and this new version was born naturally, from a chance meeting that then led us to in the studio working together. Never before has there been a need for an overdose of love for the whole world.”
