ROME – “With cautious optimism we can say that the situation regarding Fentanyl in Italy is under control thanks to timely action by our government and also by the institutions that preside over its control”. This is how the Undersecretary of Health, Marcello Gemmato, responded when questioned by Dire today in Rome on the synthetic drug Fentanyl, also known as ‘zombie’, which is already a social problem in the United States, while in Italy it remains for now a special observation.

It’s not just regular users who die from illegal consumption of this substance. Illegal fentanyl, in fact, is obviously mixed with heroin but also with Xanax, marijuana and various other substances. Being a drug in common and daily use in all hospitals in the modern world, it is safe and effective but when it is mixed with drugs its effects are devastating.
