World Environment Day, that’s why it is celebrated on June 5th

The initiative shines a global spotlight on the urgent environmental challenges of our times

ROME – You cannot live in prosperity, nor be happy, in a sick planet: our health also depends on that of the planet. This was stated by WWF on World Environment Day (World Environment Day), the anniversary which, every 5 June, brings together millions of people from all over the world, engaging them in the effort to protect and heal the Earth. We can’t turn back time, but we can grow forests, revive water sources and restore soils. We are the generation that can make peace with our planet.

THE 5TH OF JUNE IS WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The first world environment day, with the slogan “Only One Earth”. The United Nations General Assembly chose June 5 as the date in reference to the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment, held in 1972. On that occasion UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) was also established, a global organization created with the aim of combating climate change and protect the Earth’s resources.
