ROME – What’s the weather like today? Weather conditions from North to South of Italy:
North
Severe bad weather in Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and tri-Veneto with widespread showers and thunderstorms, locally intense especially in the Veneto and Friulian sectors, but easing from the afternoon in the Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna areas; weaker and more isolated phenomena in the morning and afternoon over the rest of the north. In the evening general absorption of precipitation, except for persistence but more attenuated, over Trentino-Alto Adige, northern Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Snow level above 2000 meters on the bordering Alpine mountains, downhill on the South Tyrolean ones up to 1700/1800 metres.
Centre
At times compact coverage over most of the peninsular areas and Sardinia with light rain and a few isolated thunderstorms, more likely north of Tuscany; it improves between late afternoon and evening with increasingly wider clearings.
South
Widespread cloudiness over Molise, Campania and Basilicata with light rain and some local thunderstorms; an attenuation of the phenomena will follow from the evening. In the rest of the south the weather is generally dry with a prevalence of sun, except for extensive but insignificant coverage which will affect Puglia
Temperatures
Minimum temperatures falling in Valle d’Aosta and Piedmont, rising in southern Emilia-Romagna and in the centre-south, stationary in the remaining territory; maximums decreasing over the Alps and pre-Alps and Sardinia, increasing on the central-southern Adriatic coasts, Calabria and Scilia, stationary on the rest of the country. Declining or without notable changes in the rest of Italy
Twenty
Generally weak north-western over Valle d’Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy and tri-Veneto; weak to locally moderate from the western quadrants to the rest of the country with further reinforcements on Sardinia and the Apennine ridge
