What will the weather be like today? Here's what to expect from North to South

ROME – What will the weather be like today? In the North and Center many clouds with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Light rains in the South.

North

Many clouds over western regions, Lombardy, tri-Veneto and the western portion of Emilia-Romagna with scattered showers and thunderstorms, even intense until late morning in Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia; from the afternoon it worsens further in Piedmont and Lombardy with locally strong thunderstorms and possible evening extension also to the Veneto and Friuli sectors. Thick veils on the remaining Emilia-Romagna areas.

Centre

Irregular clouds over the peninsular regions with isolated rainfall or local thunderstorms between Tuscany and Umbria, and over the Marche during the central hours; local rain or showers from late afternoon in Lazio and Abruzzo. On Sardinia, medium-high clouds, even extensive, with local rain or brief showers, more likely on the central-southern portion of the island.

South

Clouds also extended over Sicily during the night and, until mid-day, on the peninsular sector, in general and a new increase in the evening from the west; further cloud cover, but more substantial and accompanied by local light rain, will affect Campania and northern Puglia between morning and afternoon.

Temperatures

Minimum temperatures without significant variations in Liguria, the central-western Po Valley, northern Veneto, the Friulian reliefs, eastern Sardinia and central-southern Sicily; decreasing in the rest of the country; maximums rising over Cilento, Basilicata, Tyrrhenian Calabria and a large part of Sicily; decreasing in Piedmont, Lombardy, north-eastern regions, central Adriatic coasts, Molise, remaining Campania territory, Puglia, Ionian Calabria, eastern and southern Sardinia; stationary over the rest of Italy.

Twenty

Weak western conditions on Sardinia, the Emilia-Romagna Apennines and the central-southern peninsula, with strong reinforcements on the Apennine areas of the eastern side and on northern Sardinia; weak eastern over the Po Valley and variable over the rest of the north and Sicily.
