Waterspouts in Livorno: it’s a social phenomenon

A rare and majestic sight appeared last Sunday off the coast of Livorno. At least three waterspouts would have formed between the Vada lighthouse and Quercianella

ROME- More columns of air, imposing and even frightening, appeared along the horizon, off the coast of Livorno, surprising those on the shore or the residents of the buildings on the “front line” on the coast. Last Sunday, June 2, in the afternoon at least three waterspouts would have formed off the coast between the lighthouse of Vada andQuercianella in the Tuscan city.

The phenomenon remained visible for a few minutes even from the ground, and then disappeared in the clouds, however leaving time for it to be immortalized by the numerous spectators who managed to photograph it and film it via smartphone, to then “post” it on social media.

Despite their frightening appearance, the waterspouts that appeared in Livorno remained offshore, without reaching the mainland, without causing damage or posing a danger to people.
