ROME – The Emilian companyVimi Fasteners has announced that it has adopted a strong IT security policy. The life of a company today also passes through the level of security of its IT systems, which must be protected from possible hacker attacks and also from the risk that data, a precious material, for each activity, may be tampered with or lost. The centrality of cybersecurity is therefore such that the technological and training investments that the most structured entities make annually on this front are huge, also for constant updates.
The Vimi Fasteners group, world leader in engineering solutions and the production of fastening systems used in multiple industrial sectors, has translated full awareness of the importance of IT security into a plan of extremely articulated and prudent interventions, with some specific actions adopted over the last few years. “We acted on different fronts and in an integrated manner – explains Matteo Iemmi, head of the group’s ICT – by strengthening antivirus, backup systems, authentication processes and targeted training. An operation that follows the investments we had done in 2022 to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery“.
Specifically, Vimi Fasteners has now moved to an integrated suite that includes edpoint protection, vulnerability, patching management and XDR functionality – i.e. Extended detection and response – on all client, mobile and server systems. Furthermore, the company has strengthened the backup systems, significantly decreasing the RPO values, i.e. the time interval between the creation of data and its safety through a valid, restoreable copy of the data, and the RTO , i.e. the maximum recovery time, and transforming your cloud backup into an immutable repository. It has therefore adopted forms of multi-factor authentication on all the cloud systems used. Since, however, as cybersecurity experts underline, the human factor remains a fundamental element both in the prevention of errors and in actions that can create a flaw in the company’s technological security network, Vimi Fasteners has decided to adopt also a continuous training plan for its collaborators. “A recurring annual training program on IT security has been activated – explains the ICT manager – which includes, among other things, an anonymous phishing test. In view of the results, training is carried out that is targeted and proportionate to the number of errors that occur to each individual participant”.
