ROME – Together, for the first time: Kamala Harris and Barack Obama. The first “combined” rally came in the final rush of the very tough (and uncertain) American presidential campaign, in front of 23 thousand people, in Georgia. It was a highly anticipated event.
Not only the former beloved US president but also Bruce Springsteen and the actor Samuel L. Jackson came to Atlanta, the latest in a very long train of VIPs who have openly sided with the Dem candidate in recent weeks. Today Harris is expected, perhaps even more so, at a rally with Beyoncé in Houston, Texas.
Obama had actually been working for Harris practically since the day he made it official that he would take over from Biden in the race for the White House, especially to convince African-American and Latino voters. “Together we have the opportunity to choose a new generation of leaders for this country, and begin to build a better, stronger, more just and confident America.” Trump? “Just because he does weird things sometimes doesn’t mean his presidency wouldn’t be dangerous.”
