VIDEO | Ugl Congress, Capone: “Now we are more visible and authoritative. I’m running again”

The UGL general secretary, Paolo Capone, in an interview with the Dire agency

ROME – “On 25, 26 and 27 June we will hold our fifth national congress in Rome and I am re-nominated to lead an organization which, in these five years, has grown, regained visibility, authority and ability to propose our own ideas, we are a very dynamic trade union organisation”.

The UGL general secretary, Paolo Capone, says this in an interview with the Dire agency, in which he explains that he is “at the moment the only candidate: we are following a unitary path for the unity of organization”.

With respect to the political position of the Ugl, which is more pro-Lega or Fdi, Capone underlines: “We are independent from the parties then every union is inspired by values: we openly refer to the world of the right, we have always been a right-wing organization “.

Capone has started a process of unitary synthesis, only in this way can the entire organization of the union be improved “to best defend all workers, the vulnerable, those who have no other champions to take care of them.

This – reiterates Capone– we can do only with unity, the unity of a trade union organization that since 1950 has been on the side of those has worked, of those who work and of those who would like to work”.

The secretary of the UGL, however, is keen to say that “among our members and managers there are also exponents of the Democratic Party, of the socialist and Catholic area, because the values are those of the participation of workers in the life of the enterprise, of the humanism of work, of collaboration between capital and labor and not of class clash”.
