ROME – The Israeli teams SC Dimona and Shimshon Tel Aviv set the world record for penalty kicks: they took 56 of them, 28 shots per team. It happened in the promotion semi-final to the third division, which ended 2-2 after extra time. Dimona then won 23-22.
The previous record record was 54 penalties, established in March 2022 in England, when Washington beat Bedlington 25-24 in the first round of the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup.
