ROME – “They’re just songs”, says jokingly Carlo Conti, guest in the studio of ‘Un caffè con Giorgia Cardinaletti, on Rai1 to announce the first news on Sanremo. The next host of the Festival anticipated some “small changes” to the regulations, remarking several times that “the important thing is the songs”. Then, he explained his ‘modus operandi’: “I worked on my editions while also observing the work done subsequently because it would be absurd to throw everything away”. And again: “There will be a division between the New Proposals and the Bigs, each will do their own competition”, said Conti also confirming “the absence of the eliminations” because “they have now passed”.
The artistic director said he also spoke with Amadeus: “Music, after all, has been the common thread of our life, the rest is putting on a television programme, very important, of course, because Sanremo is like the National team, we all become technical commissioners and artistic directors.” News also on the duration of the evenings: “There will be fewer songs and the Dopofestival is back”. A wish? “The beginning with Vasco Rossi singing Albachiara” complete with an appeal: “Vasco think about it”.
