Matteo Salvini affectionately greets his girlfriend, Francesca Verdini, and then introduces her to Roberto Vannacci, the general candidate for the European elections with the League. At the temple of Hadrian, a stone’s throw from Palazzo Chigi, the secretary of the League presents his book “Controvento”. With him on stage is Vannacci, in the front row the deputy editor Antonio Angelucci, Davide Crippa and some other Northern League parliamentarians.
Before starting the presentation Salvini meets his girlfriend in the back of the stage, in a brown jacket and red miniskirt, and he kisses her. He then introduces her to Vannacci as “my other half”. The general widens his smile: “Much pleasure, truly honored to make your acquaintance“. Then, off to the meeting with the press.
