BOLOGNA – The search for Cristian Molnar will not be stopped, the third boy dragged away by the flood of the Natisone on Friday 31 May together with his two friends Patrizia Cormos and Bianca Doros, found dead two days later in the waters of the river. The mayor of Premiaracco, Michele De Sabata, had explained in recent days that the team of rescuers to search for the young man was restricted until Sunday. On social media he then explained that he did not mean that the searches would be stopped afterwards.

CRISTIAN’S RESEARCH WILL CONTINUE

“They are not suspended“, he then wrote on his Facebook page, where he constantly gives information on the work of the Fire Brigade and the many Civil Protection volunteers who in recent days continue tirelessly to search Christian. A few hours ago the helicopter took off again for a patrol. And this morning the mayor explained that today the divers would be taken “to the most difficult place“. To support the work, the residents brought cakes and other sweets (too many, at a certain point, so much so that the mayor had to put a stop to the widespread generosity) for those who are at work, such as as evidenced by the images released by Mayor De Sabata. Who today, through the microphones of Friuli TV, wanted to launch an appeal to reiterate to people not involved in the rescue efforts to stay at home and not think in any way of personally participating in the operations to search for Cristian.

“WE’D ALL LIKE TO GO BUT WE CAN’T”

“I understand the good will and love for this boy – says the mayor – but your presence would only stop the rescue efforts, instead of doing any good it would end up being bad. Even I who live on the river must not go, because I disturb the emergency services. There is a great possibility of getting hurt, it is a very impervious area. And even just when the helicopter passes there is a crazy movement of trees, you have to be careful”, says the mayor.

“IT’S DANGEROUS, EVEN PROFESSIONALS HAVE DIFFICULTIES”

And again: “We are not looking for something on a meadow, we are inside a ravine, 1800 metres, where the firefighters have great difficulty going there they are professionals. Beautiful idea, we would all go, I would love to go too, but we can’t go, let’s leave it to them.”
