The Dem leader asks to follow Spain, Norway and Ireland. "The two peoples and two states solution continues to be the one to focus on for us"

ROME – Pedro Sanchez‘s Spain, Norway and Ireland will recognize the State of Palestine. We too ask for European recognition of the State of Palestine to help the peace process”. This was said by the secretary of the Democratic Party, Elly Schlein, on the sidelines of the discussion with the CNA in view of the European elections.
“So we need a stronger diplomatic and political role for the European Union and in this we also ask for European recognition of the State of Palestine because the two peoples and two states solution continues to be the one to aim for for us. And, while a State already exists, Israel, and has the right to exist in peace and security without terrorist attacks and missiles, unfortunately the recognition of the other State, the State of Palestine, is still culpably lacking.

Because the Palestinians also have the right to have a State in which to live in peace and security”, added the Dem leader, who recalled: “Since October we have been asking for an immediate ceasefire to free all the hostages still in the hands of Hamas terrorists, to stop this massacre of civilians that is underway in Gaza and with the madness of the attack on Rafah which risks being a massacre. And to bring all the humanitarian aid that is indispensable toa Palestinian population that is unjustly punished collectively when we know that it is made up of 40% minors, girls and boys who have nothing to do with the Hamas terrorists do“.
