Responding to journalists, ‘Gimbo’ talks about his emotion in having an exceptional spectator among the public: the President of the Republic: “He came on Tuesday evening to watch the race – he explains – I think he had fun, he was positively impressed by the evening, by the enthusiasm, so much so that he wanted to come back the following day and I think it’s a truly unusual thing. This is perhaps even more proud than having had it on the first evening >Knowing that that evening made him so proud that he came back the next day means that it touched him in some way. I thank him personally but also on behalf of the whole team for what he does for us. Giving the right importance to sport also makes us feel important for what we do and always underlines how many sacrifices we have to make to get where we need to get to. And it’s not a given.”
