ROME – The hail that struck shortly after 9pm in Rome was sudden and very violent. Grains the size of ping pong balls, people fleeing to avoid harm, broken down cars and others seeking shelter to avoid damaging the bodywork. An apocalyptic scene that lasted a few minutes but was enough to trigger panic at the Colosseum.
