ROME – The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has also had repercussions on the Eurovision Song Contest. Yesterday, while the final was being staged, many protesters including Greta Thunberg tried to reach the outside of the Malmo Arena only to be blocked by the police. The climate activist, with a keffiyeh around her neck, was lifted bodily by the officers together with the other demonstrators who were sitting in a circle with her.
