ROME – “The first thing Europe will have to do is change the institutional structure and the method of functioning of some of the decision-making processes. For example, we should overcome, and I think this is a common need felt by all the countries of the Union, the so-called concept of unanimity”. This is said by Francesco Carducci, candidate in the next European elections for the Brothers of Italy in the central Italy constituency, in the video interview with the Dire agency. Born in 1963, entrepreneur, his company today manages the Conciliazione Auditorium in Rome, one of the main places for cultural promotion and events at a national level and beyond.

As for EU policies, the Fdi candidate explains: “We believe that Europe must deal with major strategic issues, therefore foreign policy and common defense policy, which often go hand in hand and above all a common budget policy and structural investments, on a par with the two great competitors we have on a global level, which are the United States and China”.

There is someone who is afraid of the ecological transition, due to the costs… “The issue is not fear – replies Carducci – the problem is the tools that Europe must make available to accompany this process. United States, the Biden administration has just allocated 2 trillion dollars towards this objective, Europe has approved this transition but has not yet allocated a single euro”.
Then he underlines that “this structural operation, which concerns not only businesses but also citizens, public bodies and buildings, is necessary but requires public resources, common resources that the Member States on the model of the PNRR they must necessarily put in place”.

“We hope that Europe will change pace – concludes the Fdi candidate – that the small but large issues for the national economy will once again be the responsibility of individual countries in the future and that the Europe should focus on these three strategic axes which are common foreign and defense policy and a development and economic policy project with a common budget”.
