ROME – “Chef Rubio? We can expect anything from him. And he will respond in the appropriate places for the very serious accusations he has made against the Jewish community.” This is what Riccardo Pacifici, former president of the Roman Jewish Community, said to Dire. Chef Rubio was the victim of a violent attack near his home last night. The TV personality, in no uncertain terms, blamed the ambush on “Zionist Jews, henchmen of the Zionist mafia”. “For this type of thing there is a very precise definition: incitement to hatred”, commented Pacifici.

A video has been circulating on the internet for hours, dating back to last October 10, 2023 (3 days after the Hamas attack, ed.), on the occasion of the torchlight procession organized by the newspaper Il Foglio in support of Israel, in which Pacifici addressed thus “to those who make anti-Semitic posts and incite violence, pseudo professors like Orsini and D’Orsi: we’re coming to get you”. The video was relaunched by several supporters of the Palestinian cause, including by Chef himself Rubio. “There is also a name for this kind of thing: it is defamation. That speech must be contextualized. The Minister of Justice was present at the demonstration. It is clear that I was referring to an action within the scope of legality. I hope that the police identify those responsible for the ambush that Chef Rubio suffered and others. There are those who want to add fuel to the fire, in an already incandescent climate throughout the country. Let those who have the tasks and roles to do it take care of it”, he concluded.
