The father of 'Star Wars' and 'Indiana Jones' received the Palme d'Or for Lifetime Achievement

ROME – A synonym of legend? George Lucas, the one who illuminated the seventh art with the ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Indiana Jones’ sagas. The director, screenwriter and producer flew to the 77th Cannes Film Festival to receive the Palme d’Or for Lifetime Achievement. This evening, at the awards ceremony, one of the most exciting moments of this edition took place. After being greeted by a very long round of applause and a standing ovation, Lucas was awarded by Francis Ford Coppola. The latter, at the event with ‘Megalopolis’, hugged his colleague. “I’m proud to be your friend,” Coppola said.
