VIDEO | At Propaganda live the chilling words of Daniella Weiss: “We will build Jewish communities on the golden beach of Gaza”

Francesca Mannocchi's interview aired last night on the La 7 program

ROME – The interview with Francesca Mannocchi, which aired last night during Propaganda Live’ on La 7, is causing a lot of discussion on social media. In her reportage on the situation around the Gaza Strip, the journalist interviewed Daniella Weiss, considered the leader of the settlers. “I describe myself as an activist Zionist, a major figure in the settler movement in Samaria and Judea, active in establishing new settlements,” Weiss explains.

The intention of the 78-year-old from the Jewish ultra-right is to give life to an all-Jewish Gaza: “I have 50 years of experience in making the hills populated with Jewish communities. We will do the same in Gaza. We will take all the experience accumulated here and we will plant it there, on the golden beaches of Gaza”. Weiss then, as if nothing had happened, takes out a brochure from a drawer with images of the future Gaza, a cluster of modern skyscrapers overlooking the sea.

“We will build communities in Gaza. We will take the Strip and divide it into lots and distribute them to soldiers and their families,” Weiss said. And to the question “where should the Palestinians go?” he replies: “In Egypt, Turkey, Canada, the United States, in all the countries of the world (…) like all refugees, like Afghans or Syrians”.

Mannocchi replies: “Why can’t the Palestinians live in their land?”, “It’s not their land”, Weiss replies, almost ‘surprised’ by the obvious answer, then the expression changes she becomes more serious when she states decisively: “The Arabs will not stay in Gaza. Period. This time it’s over, the next step is for the Jews to go there (…) we will build communities in Gaza. We will re-establish the Gush Katif area in the north to the south. So the justice of the modern world is to let us return to Gaza.”

THE REFLECTION OF FRANCESCA MANNOCCHI

“Let’s not make the mistake of thinking that such explicit extremism is folkloristic. There is one thing that extremists have: a vision and this vision convinces. And while we are here demonstrate they collect the names of the families who want to go to Gaza and the consent of the minister of national security”, commented Francesca Mannocchi in the studio, at the end of the report.
