VIDEO | 2 June, concerts and façade illuminated with the Italian flag in Montecitorio

Today it will also be possible to visit the exhibition set up on the Transatlantic for the 100th anniversary of the death of Giacomo Matteotti

ROME – On the occasion of Republic Day,the Italian flag was projected on the façade of Montecitorio. The lighting of the Tricolor took place yesterday evening from 9pm until 6am this morning and is expected also from 9pm today until midnight. On the giovani.camera.it website, it is possible to listen to the history of the national flag, the anthem and the emblem of the Republic in a dedicated podcast.

OPEN DOORS IN MONTECITORIO

Today, starting from 4pm, in the presence of the Vice President Giorgio Mulè, in the square in front of the entrance to the Chamber, the Air Force Band will play, introducing a special edition of Montecitorio a Porte Aperte. The visits will begin at 6pm and participants will be able to see, among other things, the exhibition set up on the Transatlantic for the 100th anniversary of the death of Giacomo Matteotti. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the National Committee for Celebrations of the Centenary of the Death of Giacomo Matteotti and collects a summary of the deputy’s activity through documents from the historical archive and the Library of the Chamber, parliamentary reports, other documents and a selection of the exchange of letters with his wife Velia Titta, provided by “Filippo Turati” Historical Studies Foundation and the Giacomo Matteotti ETS Foundation.

From 4.30 pm there will be two musical moments in the Chamber by, respectively, the musicians of the Bedizzole Fanfare and the Fanfare in service of the 6th Bersaglieri Regiment, with institutional greetings from the vice-president Mulè and the president of the National Bersaglieri Association, Ottavio Renzi. The concert is also part of the calendar of the main events scheduled for the hundredth anniversary of the foundation of the Association, founded in Bologna on 30 June 1924
