Venezia 81, Giuseppe Tornatore on the competition jury

The Competition Jury, as already announced, is chaired by the French actress Isabelle Huppert

ROME – The International Jury of the Competition of the 81st International Film Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, directed by Alberto Barbera (scheduled from 28 August to 7 September), has been completed.

Presided over – as already announced on May 8th – by the French actress Isabelle Huppert, the international jury of the Venezia 81 Competition will be composed of: the American director and screenwriter James Gray; the British director and screenwriter Andrew Haigh; the Polish director, screenwriter and producer Agnieszka Holland; the Brazilian director and screenwriterKleber Mendonça Filho; the Mauritanian director, screenwriter and producerAbderrahmane Sissako; the Italian director and screenwriter Giuseppe Tornatore; the German director and screenwriter Julia von Heinz; the Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi.

The Venezia 81 Jury will award the following official prizes to the feature films in Competition – without the possibility of ex-aequo –: Golden Lion for best film, Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize, Silver Lion – Prize for best director, Coppa Volpi for best female performance, Coppa Volpi for best male performance, Special Jury Award, Award for best screenplay, Marcello Mastroianni Award to an emerging young actor or actress.
