Velletri hospital, from the emergency room to the topic of safety: the update on the works

ROME – Today, at the Colombo hospital in Velletri, an important meeting was held to verify the state of progress of the works, in the presence of various local authorities and regional. The mayor of Velletri, Ascanio Cascella, the health director of the ASL Roma 6, Vincenzo Carlo La Regina, and the director of the UOC Technical and Heritage Office, l ‘engineer Giuseppe Sergio Sajeva, participated in the visit to take stock of the progress of the various maintenance and improvement works underway at the hospital facility.


Among the works covered by the visit, ordinary maintenance for radiology was completed, with the supply and installation of a new remote control, diagnostic equipment of new generation for the execution of radiographs with contrast medium (fluoroscopy) and radiographs of the musculoskeletal system and of the thorax, abdomen and digestive system.
A new generation new police station near the hospital entrance, ensuring greater safety for patients and staff. In the obstetrics-gynecology and paediatrics-neonatology department, the necessary works for the reactivation of the birth center and neonatology have been completed. All equipment has been supplied and connected.


As regards the Emergency room, the works to open the passages to the adjacent former transfusion area have been completed. This intervention will not only improve the organization and functionality of the emergency room, but will also lead to an expansion of the spaces available for healthcare activities. Finally, work is underway to improve the safety of the external areas belonging to the hospital, such as the restoration of fences and the installation of anti-fall barriers.
