ROME – ‘Chi’ on newsstands from Wednesday 8 May publishes the exclusive interview with the candidate for the next European elections Roberto Vannacci. “Do they call me a fascist?” says the general. “What are the values of anti-fascism? Freedom and democracy. I defended them on the battlefield and none of those who judge me were at my side doing the same thing, risking their lives”.

Then he says: “If I am elected, I will move with my wife and our two daughters to Brussels, I will be a full-time MEP and I will do my utmost to ensure that peace returns. >I will not resign from the army: I will remain a soldier”. And on the controversy about the disabled: “My childhood friend Norberto De Angelis, a former American football champion who is now disabled, immediately agreed with me because he lives everything on his skin and because he understood what I meant to say regarding the fact that, being more fragile, they need more attention”.
