ROME – “We must restore not only remunerative but also social authority to the category of school managers and all school staff. We must restore the principle of authority. In a mature democracy like ours” this “should not worry, in fact it is fundamental because it is the opposite of anarchy”. This was said by the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, speaking via video link with the National School Managers Congress, underway in Bari.
“Anarchy – continued Valditara – means the absence of authority and we must defeat that 1968 culture which unfortunately still exists in our country. The loss of respect that exists in society Italian attitude towards the world of school also derives from this and I want school managers, like teachers and all school staff to also be respected by parents”.
