United creatures of mattiandi, the drawings of the unsuspected creative Mattia Morandi on display

The works on display until June 21st at Palazzo Baldoca Muccioli, in Rome

Sketches and improvised sketches on post-its, loose sheets of paper, newspaper pages. Dreamlike faces and real physiognomies imprinted on every possible support in the frenzy of the working days. This is how the creatures of mattiandi were born, the stage name (in homage to Pazienza) of Mattia Morandi, journalist and expert in institutional communication who is exhibiting his drawings at Palazzo Baldoca Muccioli until June 21st , in via Giulia, headquarters of Fabio Mazzeo Architects. This is where a cycle of monographic exhibitions of ‘unsuspected creatives’, i.e. non-art professionals, begins.

UNITED CREATURES OF MATTIANDI

And the first is him, Mattiandi, father of the United Creatures exhibited from tomorrow in the heart of Rome and at the same time a professional involved in institutions, from Parliament to the Ministry of Culture – where he was head of communications for around ten years – and in numerous valorisation projects and promotion campaigns for museums and cultural heritage. A lover of comics, he created and animated the ‘Comics in museums’ series together with the publishing house Coconino press which won the Italian comics Oscar in 2018 for the best editorial initiative of the year at Lucca Comics & Games.

THE DRAWINGS

His kaleidoscopic drawings give life to an imaginary character, whose multiple faces express a multitude of personalities, reactions and emotions with common somatic traits, but at the same time profoundly different strong>. Colored with unexpected chromatic mixtures, the portraits of the many selves emerge different, but always positive and a little cheeky in dealing with the whirlwind of life.

THE CYCLE OF EXHIBITIONS

The cycle of exhibitions inaugurated by Morandi was born from the constant interest of Fabio Mazzeo Architects, a company operating on an international scale in the field of Architecture and Interior Design, in giving space and voice to the authenticity and uniqueness of capabilities Italian creatives. The constant search for new creative energy and the studio’s attitude to experimentation has focused, for this first exhibition, on ‘intimate’ expressive forms; representations of a space: an internal, human space. For Fabio Mazzeo “there can be beauty around us as long as it begins its journey from within us. All our ‘sensations’ partially and sometimes completely modify that small portion of the world that surrounds our lives and for this reason we all, without exception, play a crucial role for the best outcome of the whole”.
