BARI – “An action plan”, approved unanimously, centered on nuclear safety, export of food products and release of prisoners, to then be submitted to Russia: this is the proposal that should be put on the table today in Switzerland by the head of state of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The setting is the conference underway since yesterday in the resort of Bürgenstock, on Lake Lucerne.
According to Zelensky, the prospect of the “plan” is that of “a real end to the war“. p>

As the Kyiv Independent newspaper recalls today, one of the basic requests of the Ukrainian government is the withdrawal of Moscow’s troops from the entire national territory, in particular from the four eastern regions and the south which President Vladimir Putin claimed as an integral part of Russia on Friday.
During the first day of the conference, Zelensky said that the focus of the work will be nuclear safety, export of food products and release of prisoners and deported people, including minors. “We will focus on these initial points of the peace formula”, highlighted the president, “and by working on them we will be able to reach an agreement and create an action plan”.
According to the Kyiv Independent, “despite Zelensky’s optimism, participation” on the shores of Lake Lucerne was “lower than expected”. Russia was absent, uninvited, and also China, which called again on Friday for direct negotiations between the parties. The Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, until yesterday guest of the G7 summit in Borgo Egnazia, Puglia. United Nations, Organization for Cooperation and Security in Europe (OECD), Holy See and Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople participate in the conference as observers. The head of state of Argentina, Javier Milei, was present, not the Brazilian head of state Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. For the United States there is no Joe Biden, but his deputy Kamala Harris.
