ROME – Two activists of the League of Rivoli, in the province of Turin, were attacked with sticks during a flyer distribution. The victims are father and son aged 60 and 15, respectively the brother and nephew of the Northern League candidate for the local elections, Tatiana Kazachkova. According to League sources, the two “were surrounded by seven people even armed with sticks. This time, however, they didn’t stop at the insults. The fighting starts. Our wounded militants end up in hospital. The minor was reached by a shot in the eye and cheekbone, while the other man was wounded in the elbow and back“. As far as we know, some of the attackers have been identified.
Party leader Matteo Salvini writes on social media: “I send an affectionate hug to the injured. Unfortunately, episodes of political intolerance are multiplying. For the umpteenth time, with concern, I hope for a lowering of tones also in light of what happened to Slovakian Prime Minister Fico at the hands of a pro-European fanatic“. Premier Giorgia Meloni also echoes this: “The attack that occurred in Rivoli is worrying and unacceptable. My total solidarity with them and the entire League community”.
