Turetta in the courtroom, Gino Cecchettin did not stay until the end: “What a pain, I already know who he is”

"I already know who Turetta is, it's very clear": Giulia Cecchettin's father left the Venice Court before the end of the interrogation of his daughter's ex-boyfriend who killed her on November 11th of a year ago

BOLOGNA – He didn’t stay until the end. He didn’t listen to the entire interrogation of Filippo Turetta, the man who killed his daughter a year ago. Gino Cecchettin, Giulia Cecchettin’s father, left the courtroom in Venice at the end of the morning, when the defense was about to begin asking questions for the defendant. Just before starting, Turetta’s lawyer, Giovanni Caruso, had made a preamble, explaining that in his cross-examination he would go into the 22-year-old’s life, to make it clear who Filippo is. “I already know who Filippo is“, Giulia’s father told reporters as he left. And he also said: “The most painful moment was knowing what my daughter went through in the last moments of her life. That’s not the point. We understood who Filippo Turetta is, his lawyer wants to understand more. It’s very clear to me. What emerges today is that the life of others is a sacred thing and we must respect the lives of others”.
To those who asked him for a memory of Giulia, killed by her ex-boyfriend on November 11, 2023, Gino Cecchettin replied: “She is my love, what can I say?”.
