Tragedy in Val Masino, three financiers died during an Alpine Rescue exercise

ROME – The toll from the tragic accident that occurred today just before 1pm in Val Masino, in the province of Sondrio, is three dead. They are Luca Piani, 33 years old, Alessandro Pozzi, 24 years old and Simone Giacomelli, 23 years old, soldiers of the Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza (Sagf). The three apparently crashed during a mountain rescue exercise at high altitude. According to initial reconstructions, the victims were climbing the precipice of the asteroids when they fell due to the failure of a rope. The General Commander of the Guardia di Finanza, Andrea De Gennaro, expressed “also on behalf of all the Fiamme Gialle, deep condolences to the families of the three young people”.
