Too many tourists in Crete, in Balos people ‘abandoned’ in the water 10 meters from the shore

BOLOGNA – Tourists forced to get off the ferry and ‘wade’ around ten meters of sea, those that separated them from the amazing Balos beach, in Crete. The video of this curious episode that occurred in recent days on the island of Crete, Greece has gone viral in the last few hours. Once the tourists arrived by ferry at Balos beach, they discovered that the boat would not dock. And that, if they wanted to visit the paradisiacal beach, they would have to get off and continue on foot. With backpacks on their heads to avoid getting them wet. Some Greek newspapers spread the video, which later went viral. The news obviously raised a lot of controversy. What is the cause of this grotesque situation? To the fact that, apparently, the authorities fear the storming of the Bali beach and have denied the installation of a floating platform for landings. The objective of this harsh punishment was to defend the marine ecosystem and not alter the biological balance of the beach. But judging by the wave of controversy raised by the video, the Greek authorities could retrace their steps and give the OK to the creation of the platform.

According to what the Greek press writes, there were around forty tourists who got off the boat for the water pilgrimage. Elderly people and children, however, remained on board. They had been advised against attempting to land on foot. The brave tourists climbed down from the hatch with the help of ropes and with the support of the crew (who then helped them get back on) and then immersed themselves in the crystal clear water. Complete with a chain to pass backpacks and other luggage. A misadventure that will be difficult to forget.
