Tomorrow in Rome the first Regional Congress of the Order of Physiotherapists of Lazio

We discuss proximity services, Ministerial Decree 77, telemedicine and rare diseases

ROME – The 1st Regional Congress of the Order of Physiotherapists of Lazio entitled ‘The prospects of physiotherapy in the Lazio region: equity, proximity, humanisation and sustainability’ will take place tomorrow in Rome of the Regional Health System’. Starting from 9.30am, and until 6pm, the event, accredited by the National Commission for Continuing Education, will bring together numerous healthcare professionals linked to double thread to that of the physiotherapist: speech therapists, podiatrists, occupational therapists, orthoptists and ophthalmology assistants, neuro and psychomotor therapists of the developmental age, professional educators and psychiatric rehabilitation technicians >.
“The Congress – explains the president of OFI Lazio, Annamaria Servadio, who is chairing the event – to the Dire agency – represents the first opportunity for discussion between a professional community that intends to seize the opportunity to reflect and discuss to trace the trajectories of the future of the profession, aware that the promotion of health, the efficient management of resources, the development of new organizational models and the involvement of citizens represent the only way forward to contribute, together with institutions, bodies and other healthcare professions, to a more equitable healthcare system.
“In recent years – he continues – we are witnessing a progressive change of the demographic picture, associated with the growth of chronic-degenerative pathologies. This fact makes the need for professionals to initiate new strategies to support all those conditions linked to the loss of autonomy increasingly pressing. The data relating to the Lazio region highlight an offer of long-term care that is still too low if compared, for the same population, with that of other regions”.
Servadio underlines that “< strong>The Physiotherapist can contribute, both with prevention paths and through integrated care, to the care of chronically ill patients, proposing Physiotherapy as an effective tool to contain the onset of chronic/degenerative pathologies or slow down its progression and, at the same time, provide support to the condition resulting from being affected.
“The Physiotherapist – concludes the number one of OFI Lazio – has the task of promoting empowerment strategies that develop skills of self-management of the pathology, greatly improving the quality of life and the use of medium and long-term care, orienting itself and proposing itself from an innovative perspective, aiming at prevention, improvement of management of chronic-neurodegenerative diseases in all their stages and the functioning of the person, with positive effects for the health of citizens and for the sustainability of the health system“.
The organizational coordination of the Congress is entrusted to the vice president of OFI Lazio, Maria Rita Molinari, while the scientific coordination is handled by the delegate for post-basic training, updating and research, Loredana Gigli.
Institutional greetings will open the day’s work , which will continue with two sessions: in the first, entitled ‘Organisational models and development of physiotherapy’, space will be given to topics such as the DM77, local services, the physiotherapist within pharmacies and new employment prospects strong>.
‘Tools and strategies for innovation in physiotherapy’ is the title of the second session, during which the spotlight will be on telemedicine in Lazio, on technologies in rehabilitation with virtuous experiences in the region, on accessibility and equity of access to physiotherapy and rehabilitation care and, finally, on physiotherapy and rare diseases.
The participants in the 1st Regional Congress of the Order of Physiotherapists of Lazio will then discuss professional responsibility for the physiotherapist, with the analysis of the implementing decrees of the Gelli-Bianco Law, health communication and role of social media between healthcare responsibility and the digitalisation of the sector.
‘Look at the freelance profession. Connection perspectives’ is the title of the parallel session of the regional event by OFI Lazio, during which we will talk about adapted physical activity, functional evaluation of the chronic patient and paths to be undertaken in the area, health needs low and medium complexity in physiotherapy, physiotherapy, sport and physical exercise, health education and prevention.
At the end of the work, a Round Table will be held on the topics covered during which speakers and participants will discuss , while in the final session of the conference the 3 most deserving posters will be awarded, evaluated by an external Review Committee.
The 1st Regional Congress of the Order of Physiotherapists of Lazio will be attended by the President of the Lazio Regional Council, Antonello Aurigemma, the President of the VII Lazio Health Commission, Alessia Savo, the President of the National Federation of Physiotherapists Orders (FNOFI), Piero Ferrante, the Lazio Regional Coordinator of the Italian Federation of Health and Hospital Companies (FIASO ), Giuseppe Quintavalle, and the Councilor of the Order of Doctors-Surgeons and Dentists of the province of Rome, Valentina Grimaldi.
