Thunderstorms in the North, good weather in Central-Southern Italy: what to expect

North

Showers and local thunderstorms during the night and early morning in Piedmont and Lombardy, also with light rain expected in Liguria and the westernmost Venetian areas; cloud cover which will then quickly extend to the rest of the north with rain and thunderstorms increasingly widespread during the daytime hours, with the exception of the eastern sector of Emilia-Romagna, where the phenomena will be more isolated. It improves in the evening, but only in Valle d’Aosta, the Piedmont plain and Emilia-Romagna, even with large openings on the latter

Centre

Rain and showers at times widespread over the northernmost portion of Tuscany and clear or at most opaque skies due to high, thin clouds over Sardinia. In the rest of Tuscany and in the other peninsular regions, there will be ample and prevalent sunshine, except for cumulus clouds that evolve during the day which will affect the Apennines and adjacent areas, where brief showers will be possible between morning and afternoon; In the evening, low but absolutely harmless clouds are expected over lower Tuscany, southern Umbria, the Abruzzo mountains and a large part of the Lazio region

South

In the peninsular regions, there is a prevalence of sunshine albeit with slight afternoon concentrations which may give rise to some sporadic showers close to the Apennine areas; clear or temporarily cloudy skies over Sicily

Temperatures

Minimum temperatures slightly increasing in Sicily and decreasing in the rest of the country; maximums decreasing in the north-west, Lombardy and Trentino Alto Adige, stationary in the rest of the tri-Veneto and increasing in the rest of the peninsula

Weak to moderately weak around the south-west to the centre-south and the Emilia-Romagna Apennines with local reinforcements to the west of the latter; weak western over Sardinia, southern over Liguria and variable over the rest of the north
