ROME – Codacons protests the excessive prices of tickets for the Rome tennis internationals.
“The cost of attending the tennis matches as part of the Bnl internationals of Italy are increasingly prohibitive”, explains the association.
“For the match on Sunday 19 May on the central court the prices range from a minimum of 298 euros to a maximum of 1,344 euros, passing through the 998 euros of the sponsor’s grandstand ‘ at 934 euros for the ‘top’ one, while if you want to purchase a ‘Suite’ subscription the official price list goes as high as 44,450 euros
For Codacons they are “tariffs that make it impossible for many citizens to attend matches and damage sport, distancing young people from the world of tennis. Furthermore, considering theflat rates of highly anticipated players, fromJaninik Sinner to Carlos Alcaraz, we believe that ticket prices should be revised downwards, reimbursing those who have already purchased tickets by spending astronomical sums”, concludes Codacons.
