RESIA (Udine) –Three well-known Emilian entrepreneurs made an institutional visit to Resia, to learn about the economic model that has been underway in the valley of the same name for two years now. We talked about working in the mountains.
Elena Salda, CEO of the historic Modenese metalworking company Cms of Marano Sul Panaro, Carlotta Giovetti, CEO of Trenton, another historic metalworking company based in Frassinoro (Mo) and Angelica Ferri Personali, well-known accountant from Modena and owner of Villa La Personala mansion in Mirandola (Mo), wanted to see up close the economic model created in Resia, for comparison and sharing. Giovetti and Salda also have their headquarters in mountainous areas of Emilia.
Ferri Personali has promoted robust initiatives related to tourism in Emilia, especially in the Motor Valley. Woman of action: “We need to act, get busy to bring tourists from all over the world to our areas. Modena offers the best there is in terms of motors and experiences linked to them. We must push on what distinguishes us. There is no need to invent nothing. Simply: network and make yourself known. Alliances with Friuli-Venezia Giulia are also possible.”
Giovetti: “The problem of working in the mountains is mainly linked to the lack of services. We need to understand where our employees can live, and how they can access services easily, without having to travel a long way to reach the lowland towns Therefore, schools, catering and hospitality activities. We must all bet on the mountains, not just us entrepreneurs-heroes who are often called upon to collaborate and urge the public body to support essential services”.
Salda is an example. concrete example of this last concept expressed by Giovetti: “Cms has created, near its headquarters, a kindergarten that everyone can access, open not only to our employees but also to the children who live in our area.
We willingly took it upon ourselves to offer this service, because we believe in the value of corporate social responsibility. This nursery school is in fact just one of the many projects of the company’s policy of attention towards stakeholders”.
Renato Railz, president of Eurolls, an engineering company that has three production sites in the mountains, and one also in Resia, which will soon be doubled, accompanied the delegation to his factory in Resia: “The road system is an enormous problem, together with the lack of essential serviceswhich also involves the simple opening of at least one restaurant every day, and even in the evening.
As well as efficient hotel accommodation available all year round. If we bet in the mountains, others can do it too. If we want work in the mountains we must create the conditions for it to be maintained and proliferate”.
Many thorny topics were at the center of the debate which was held in the Municipality of Resia, in the council room, together with Anna Micelli, mayor of Resia, in the electoral selection, Giuliano Fiorini, deputy mayor and Carmela Barile, councillor.
Also present was Matteo Querini, production director of Eurolls who accompanied the entrepreneurs to the Eurolls R&D centre, in Villa Santina (Udine).
The delegation also got to know Carnia, consuming a meal at the ‘Alla Frasca Verde’ restaurant in Lauco (Udine).
