Thiago Motta bids farewell to Bologna. Saputo: “I would have liked to keep him”. Instead he will go to Juventus

ROMA – Thiago Motta is no longer officially the coach of Bologna. And not yet, officially, the Juventus coach. Meanwhile, president Joey Saputo greets him with a bit of regret: “This morning Thiago Motta communicated to the club his intention not to renew his contract with Bologna FC 1909. Having taken note of the decision , the Club thanks the coach for the extraordinary work done and wishes him the best of luck for the rest of his career”, reads an official note.

“In these two years I have known a prepared and winning coach who has given the team a brilliant playing identity. The achievement of qualifying for the Champions League places him and all the players in the history of our club. I would have I wanted him to stay at Bolognabut I can only thank him and his staff for these wonderful seasons and wish him the best for the future.”
