Considered "the last of the playboys", six years after his death the Bounty of Rimini wants to remember him by displaying his memorabilia: there are also a couple of unmistakable jackets reminiscent of the evenings of the 70s

RIMINI – Some German newspapers described him as “the Romeo of Rimini” and there are those who simply defined him as an “entrepreneur” attentive to Northern Europe, given that in addition to English, coincidentally , he had also learned Swedish well. Certainly, his work was at least as useful for the promotion of the Romagna Riviera as that of “100 agencies”, as the person directly involved liked to recall. This is Maurizio Zanfanti, better known as Zanza or as “the last of the playboys” with unmistakable features: dark complexion and bleached locks, cut ‘mullet’. Six years after his death, which occurred in the midst of yet another ‘adventure’ by car, the Bounty of Rimini is announcing a ‘wall of fame’ dedicated to “the legendary Zanza”, the organizers say .

In the room, in fact, glass cases will be displayed with various memorabilia that belonged to Zanfanti. “In memory of Maurizio Zanfanti, King of the Rimini Playboys, who made over 6,000 women fall in love”: this is what the glittering plaque hanging under the display cases says. The initiative was born from an idea of the owner of the Bounty, Giuliano Lanzetti, and Zanza’s mother, Mrs. Gina. The latter decided to donate to the Rimini club two jackets and a pair of trousers worn by her son during those nights in the discos, as a perfect example of thelook of the Romagna ‘beer’ of the 70s and ’80.

The clothes, tailor-made by a tailor complete with ad hoc patches, are exactly those worn by Zanfanti at the time of his work as a ‘butterfly’ of theBlow Up, the historic Rimini nightclub in Walter Lanzetti, among other things Giuliano’s father. The Bounty now hopes to even become “a sort of Hard Rock Café in a Romagna style”, thanks to Zanza.
