The Wall Street Journal: Musk Is Secretly in Touch with Putin

The two would talk about "personal matters, business and geopolitical tensions". And Putin would have asked Musk not to activate Starlink in Taiwan, as a favor to Xi Jinping

ROME – The triangle, someone had considered it. Trump-Musk-Putin. They talk to each other, they look for each other. They keep in touch, tied by an increasingly less invisible thread. After the revelations in Bob Woodward’s new book, “War” – in which the overly friendly phone calls are recounted between the Russian dictator and the former US President when he wasn’t even a former one yet – here the Wall Street Journal reveals a further fifth: Musk has been “constantly in contact” with Putin since the end of 2022.

The WSJ cites “several former and current U.S., European and Russian officials” as sources. The two reportedly discussed “personal matters, business and geopolitical tensions.” And on one occasion, Putin reportedly asked the billionaire not to activate Starlink satellite Internet service in Taiwan, as a favor to Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Musk is personally involved in Trump’s presidential campaign, with his PAC. He even went so far as to set up a sort of one million a day lottery for anyone who signed up for a pro-Republican petition in the (electorally swing) state of Pennsylvania
