The ‘Tim Summer Hits’ starts in Rome, how to get around the center between bans and public transport

ROMA – It starts this evening in Piazza del Popolo ‘Tim Summer Hits< /a>‘, the free musical event hosted by Carlo Conti and Andrea Delogu scheduled until Friday 14 June. On the occasion of the event, Roman roads could be affected. In addition to the moments of inflow and outflow of spectators, parking bans are also foreseen.

CHANGES ON TRAFFIC

According to the information reported on the Romamobilità website, the areas most affected are those of Piazza del Popolo/Muro Torto/Piazzale Flaminio. Over the four days, there will be parking bans in viale Gabriele d’Annunzio, via Ferdinando di Savoia (between via Principessa Clotilde and piazza del Popolo) and via di Ripetta (between via della Fontanella and piazza del Popolo ).

The traffic service, managed by the Local Police, also includes a traffic ban on Piazza del Popolo; via del Babuino (from piazza del Popolo to via della Fontanella/via del Corso); from piazza del Popolo to via della Fontanella/via Brunetti; Gabriele d’Annunzio. 

THE METRO

Public transport. The Piazza del Popolo area can be reached by metro A, Flaminio stop. As regards all the subways (A, B, B1 and C), the service hours are: from 5.30am to 11.30pm. On Fridays (and also on Saturdays) the service is extended until 1.30 am. On the A metro, due to work, the last train trips are at 9pm. Afterwards, there are buses with the MA line. On Fridays (and also on Saturdays) these evening works are suspended and the metro remains open until 1.30 am. 

Once the metro service is complete, every night on the same routes there are the night bus lines nMA (for metro A), nMB (for metro B), nMB1 (for metro B1) and nMC (for metro C).

BUSES

The Piazza del Popolo area is also served by some bus lines. For example, there are lines 61 (piazza Balsamo Crivelli-Villa Borghese/viale Washington/piazzale Flaminio/metro A), 160 (Montagnola-Villa Borghese/viale Washington/piazzale Flaminio) and 490 (Tiburtina station /metro B-Cornelia/metro A) which stop at piazzale Flaminio/metro A. And there is the 495, which connects the Tiburtina station with Valle Aurelia and stops both in Piazza Flaminio and Piazzale Clodio. The area of Piazza del Popolo-piazzale Flaminio is also reached by lines 89 (Sant’Agnese/Annibaliano/metro B1-piazzale Clodio), 590 (Cipro metro station A-Cinecittà metro A), 628 (Farnesina-via Cesare Baronio ) and at night n201 (Olgiata-piazza Venezia).

The 61, is one of those 15 daytime bus lines that remain active even at night, until 2. The other 14 are: 38 (Termini station-Porta di Roma), 44 (via Montalcini-via del Teatro Marcello), 86 (Conca D’Oro/via Elias Canetti-via Pelagosa), 170 (Termini station-piazzale dell’Agricoltura ), 246 (Cornelia metro A-Malagrotta), 301 (Grottarossa-Ponte Milvio-Lepanto/metro A), 314 (Casalone-largo Preneste), 404 (Rebibbia/metro B-San Giovanni in Argentella), 444 (via Francesco Paolo Bonifacio-Ponte Mammolo/metro B), 451 (Ponte Mammolo/metro B-Cinecittà/metro A), 664 (circular with terminus in Largo Colli Albani metro A), 881 (via Avanzini-via Paola), 916 (via Andersen- piazza Venezia) and 980 (San Filippo Neri hospital-via Pane).
