MILAN – An INPS-branded app on your smartphone similar to the so-called ‘home banking’ used by credit institutions, with which citizens can simply check their social security and pension situation.
Alongside this, a smart TV to offer the service also to older and already retired Italians, who are less familiar with digital practices. This is the news announced by the new INPS president Gabriele Fava, interviewed at the Gerolamo Theater in Milan by the director of ‘Repubblica’ Maurizio Molinari.
“I would like to offer this opportunity to all citizens, therefore to the whole country”, says Fava. On the other hand, “we all have the bank app, and what do banks do? They manage millions of people, millions of customers, users and manage billions.
The INPS, mutatis mutandis – he observes – does more or less the same thing, therefore just as with great simplicity and ease of navigation I enter my bank app and see my current account and my investments so I will have to have this app that will allow me to see my pension status immediately, easily and possibly with further degrees of refinement, improvement, even with simulation of my pension position”.
Alongside this, the idea is also to create a smart TV for those who may already have a pension, and do not have sufficient digital skills, considering the fact of the increase in the over 65 population in Italy. “I am very, very aware of the situation which is important and must be preserved, safeguarded and indeed governed in virtuous, proactive terms, precisely by preventing crisis situations”, states the INPS number one.
“An idea we are working on specifically for the elderly is a Smart TV, so that from the comfort of their home, they can see both their pension status and a simulation of their pension status.” This innovation, which as Fava observes “seems trivial, in reality is not, because it will help a lot precisely these subjects who need easy and direct tools, which reach them directly”.
