The Rome Film Festival 2024 will be dedicated to Marcello Mastroianni

To celebrate the career of the award-winning actor, the Rome Film Fest will organize a long series of initiatives and events

ROME – The nineteenth edition of the Film Festival will be dedicated to Marcello Mastroianni, one hundred years after his birth. In fact, on 28 September 1924, one of the greatest interpreters in the history of the seventh art was born: the nineteenth edition of the Rome Film Festival, scheduled from 16 to 27 October, will be dedicated to the award-winning actor, three times nominated for an Oscar , winner of two Golden Globes, awarded for his performances in all the main international festivals.

To celebrate Mastroianni’s career, theFilm Fest will organize a long series of initiatives and events. Among these, a large retrospective of films, some in restored versions, which saw him collaborate with directors such as Federico Fellini, Vittorio De Sica, Ettore Scola, Pietro Germi; documentaries on the life and works of the great interpreter; exhibitions and displays that will be set up between the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone and the Casa del Cinema; and a meeting with the actress Chiara Mastroianni – daughter of the actor and Catherine Deneuve – to whom the Festival will dedicate a special tribute. Finally, Marcello Mastroianni will be the protagonist of the official image of the nineteenth edition.
