The referendum on the Job Act will take place, the CGIL has collected 500 thousand signatures

The obstacle to being able to decide on dismissals, safety and contracts has been overcome

ROME –The 500 thousand signatures have been exceeded for the popular referendums on dismissals, safety and contracts proposed by the CGIL “for stable, dignified, protected and safe work”.

“According to the latest survey by the Confederation’s data collection center – we read in a press release – the signatures reached for each of the four questions are 582,244“.

“The objective of half a million signatures, necessary to ‘deliberate the total or partial repeal of a law or an act having the force of law’, as stated in article 75 of the Constitution, has been largely achieved, just a month and a half after the start of the referendum campaign, which began on 25 April”, states the organizing secretary of the CGIL, Luigi Giove.

“In the territories and in the workplaces – continues the union leader – we are experiencing great interest in the themes proposed by our organisation. Furthermore, there is a widespread desire for participation”.

THE COLLECTION OF SIGNATURES CONTINUES

“Although the goal has already been reached, the collection of signatures will continue and intensify in the coming days and weeks: our goal – concludes Giove – is to collect as many as possible ”.

At its turning point, the referendum campaign of the union led by Maurizio Landini continues apace: “work – writes CGIL – must be protected, because it is a constitutional right. It must be safe, because you have to live and not die from work. It must be dignified and therefore well paid. It must be stable, because precariousness is a loss of freedom.
