ROME – Fight today in the Chamber of Palazzo Madama during the examination of the Premiership bill. During the vote on the amendment against the law which provides for the abolition of senators for life, the parliamentarians opposition members brandished a copy of the constitution. Some members of the majority responded to the initiative with ironic applause, others in turn waved the Charter, as if to vindicate the assumption according to which “the Constitution belongs to everyone”,as the president of the Senate himself, Ignazio La Russa, reiterated: “Do not wave one side – he said – against the other as a challenge”. The suppressive amendment to article one of the bill was rejected.
