The Moro high school in Reggio Emilia returns to being a literary city

The project created by teacher Daniele Castellari returns for the sixth year: "The desire is to leave the city in the memory of the citizens"

RIMINI – For the sixth consecutive year, from 13 to 15 May, theAldo Moro high school in Reggio Emilia is preparing to completely change its face. In the new edition of the ‘Reader’s City’ project, conceived by the Italian teacher Daniele Castellari, the entire school environment will in fact be converted from a place of teaching into a real miniature city complete with inhabitants, offices, businesses, visitors (up to 1,000 people) and monuments. All strictly literary themed.

Thus, in the ‘Freud’ ice cream shop you will find ice cream flavors associated with the different thoughts of some philosophers, the Carabinieri barracks is inspired by ‘The Day of the Owl’ by Leonardo Sciascia and the betting center is based on true poetic verses or faked. “It is an interactive city, both directly, with games that will actively involve the spectator, and indirectly, with shows that will try to speak to his heart, hoping to leave a mark that will allow you to experience your city in a different and less gray way”, explain the organizing school. “The desire is to leave this city in the memory of the citizens, so that this memory resurfaces when everyone goes, in real life, to the ice cream shop, the bar, the airport, thus adding, a pinch of poetry to everyday life”. Registrations open from today on the high school website.
