The Frecce Tricolori welcome new tennis courts at the Foro Italico
Redevelopment desired by Defense Services and Sport and Health
ROME – The passage of the national aerobatic team of the Frecce Tricolori of the Air Force over the Foro Italico for the ‘Internazionali BNL d’Italia 2024’ strong>: this was the most exciting moment of the presentation of the redevelopment project of the military floodplain area of the Lungotevere della Vittoria, granted for use by Difesa Servizi to Sport and Healthfor the construction of new tennis courts which will be annexed to the Foro Italico sports area.
The event was held today in Rome at the Historical and Cultural Institute of the Corps of Engineers. This is the first project that gives substance to the memorandum of understanding signed by the two companies, with the common objective of spreading the culture of sportand expanding the usability and availability of military sports facilities .
The blue sky was the backdrop to the passage of the Frecce Tricolori, which left the many present speechless, coloring a part of the sky green, white and red. An action that, in Rome, will be repeated on May 24th on the occasion of the flight over Piazza di Siena and on June 2nd for the Republic Day parade.

Today’s presentation of the redevelopment project for the military floodplain area of Lungotevere della Vittoria took place very quickly. “The project – explained the CEO of Difesa Servizi, Luca Andreoli – derives from an agreement that we signed about two months ago with Sport and Salute and which provides for the valorization of military sports facilities to also dedicate to civil uses. This is the first concrete example of the fruit of this agreement and we do it in a particularly valuable area of the city and therefore we are recovering a space that was abandoned for many years. , or in any case little used, and we do it in a way that we believe is compelling, because as a Company we tend to value it from an economic point of view, while with this example, with this operation, however, we have chosen to give up the economic part to achieve social objectives through the intervention of Sport and Health”.
“The deadline for the work foreseen for the fields will be very tight, we are talking about a few weeks – he then specified – while for the complete realization of the entire project it will take a few more time, because we want to do it really well”.
In fact, the project constitutes an expansion of the Foro Italico. When asked if it is possible to imagine the tennis internationals also in these new fields, the CEO of Difesa Servizi replied that “the project was born with the aim of redeveloping the area, of creating new opportunities for aspiring tennis players, of find spaces to play. Obviously there are never limits to dreams, but I believe precisely because of being so close to the Foro Italico Park that it is almost natural to think that next year some players will be able to play. trample these fields and, perhaps, some beautiful images of our Tiber may arrive who knows where”.
“Certainly – added the president of Sport and Health, Marco Mezzaroma– they would be two very suggestive fields for the positioning. Our interest is to make the entire Parco del Foro Italico is increasingly usable, we don’t want to stop at this first initiative and if it can fall within the scope of the Internazionali tournament we will obviously be happy”.
”The project – he concluded – is also important because it has a social value, because these tennis courts will then be used by citizens for free and in collaboration with Fit we will also hold free tennis courses for the little ones and will also be opened for use by schools. It therefore seems like a win-win operation to us.”
