The fifth edition of ‘Padel and Salute’ kicks off in Rome

Today and tomorrow medical visits will be given to all citizens who will have free access to a specialist consultation on 26 pathologies

ROME – The V edition of ‘Padel e Salute’ has officially opened, the event promoted by Sapienza University of Rome which brings together the medical and surgical excellence of the Policlinico Umberto I University Hospital of Rome and the Sant’Andrea University Hospital of Rome with the aim of promoting medical prevention to protect the psycho-physical health, supporting the educational and social cohesion value of sport.

Today, until 7.00 pm, and tomorrow, Saturday 8 June, from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, at the ‘Villaggio della Salute’, set up at the SapienzaSport Center in via delle Fornaci di Tor di Quinto 64< /strong>, medical visits are offered to all citizens who will have free and free access to a specialist consultation on 26 pathologies: andrology, angiology, cardiology, general surgery, vascular surgery, psychological counseling , dermatology, endocrinology, physiatry, gastroenterology, geriatrics, gynecology, clinical immunology, sports medicine, internal medicine, clinical nutrition, ophthalmology, pediatric dentistry, ENT, paediatrics, proctology, radiology, rheumatology, oral health, breast and urology.
For those who cannot reach the venue by their own means, a free shuttle service has been activated to/from Piazzale Aldo Moro every 90 minutes.
‘Padel means Health’ and ‘Prevention is the most effective medicine’ is the claim of the event, which was joined by the sports clubs of Rome and the province with mixed amateur tournaments. The qualified winning couples will participate in the Master which will be held tomorrow at the ‘Sapienza Sport’ sports facility.
The fifth edition of ‘Padel e Salute’ also has an important social value: at the ‘Villaggio of Health’ there is in fact a blood truck from the Policlinico Umberto I university hospital to welcome all citizens who wish to donate blood.
The event also embraces the theme of inclusiveness: the presence of the The Italian Association of Down syndrome people (Aipd) wants to motivate people with disabilities to try their hand at sport and padel , supporting them in practice and providing accessibility to reference structures.

Inaugurating the event were the president of the Lazio region, Francesco Rocca, the rector of Sapienza University, Antonella Polimeni, the president of the Rome Medical Association Antonio Magi, the general director of the hospital -university Policlinico Umberto I, Fabrizio d’Alba, and the general director
of the Sant’Andrea university hospital, Daniela Donetti.
“The combination between sporting activity and health is inseparable – said Rocca – and this event represents a further opportunity to promote its importance and to give the possibility of carrying out prevention visits”. “This – added Polimeni – is a fifth edition in which Sapienza, with its university hospitals and with the activities of Sapienza Salute, wants to put together padel and prevention, the best way to guarantee health of citizens”.
