ROME – “If everybody had an ocean Across the U.S.A. Then everybody’d be surfin’ Like Californi-a […] Everybody’s gone surfin’, Surfin’ U.S.A”. Who hasn’t danced to the tune of ‘Surfin’ USA’ at least once?, the famous song by The Beach Boys. Released in 1963, it is still capable of unleashing everyone on the dancefloor today. After 60 years Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine and David Marks reunited at Paradise Cove(where they shot the cover of ‘Surfin’ Safari’) for the documentary ‘The Beach Boys ‘, directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny and written by Mark Monroe, now available on Disney+. “I grew up in Newport Beach (California, ed.), right where The Beach Boys grew up. When I was young I loved surfing and surf music. At that time it was only instrumental. I still remember the day I heard the song ‘Surfin’ USA’ was the first time I heard a composition with words belonging to this genre”, recalled Marshall, during the virtual press meeting.
