BOLOGNA – The alleged culprit of the murder of a twenty-year-old in the Montagnola Park in Bologna was stopped by a group of policemen, a few hours after the crime, at the railway station of the Bologna city, from where he was allegedly trying to escape. This is a minor who had several criminal records, habitually frequented the area of the Bologna station and was a guest of a community, not as a minor unaccompanied foreigner (MSNA) but because he was the recipient of a measure for another crime he had committed. Lately he had moved away from his community, where he was serving an alternative sentence.
This is the alleged murderer, a 17-year-old, of the twenty-year-old killed in Montagnola in Bologna the other evening: armed with a knife, he was also stopped because he could have taken the first train and escaped. He was identified within a few hours thanks to the investigations of the Flying Squad, which produced the photo of the young man and made it available to all offices. Thanks to the joint intervention of the Railway Police and the Army, the boy was stopped near the station, on the Medaglie d’Oro side.
The police commissioner Antonio Sbordone, without going into the merits of the investigations, spoke about it today on the sidelines of a press conference called to emphasize the collaboration between the Police Headquarters and the Army, as part of the operation extended to national level Safe stations, after Safe streets. In fact, a mixed patrol identified and stopped the alleged murderer. The crime occurred the other evening in Montagnola, after the degeneration of an argument for trivial reasons. The arrested 17-year-old, of Tunisian origin like the victim, has already told his version to the investigators. The police commissioner defines “the heinous crime” as an “enormous tragedy, which has greatly affected citizens and the city”.
