It will be called ‘Rome city of film’ the new app that will tell the protagonists and places of the Eternal City inextricably linked to the big screen. Free and multilingual, the app collects four itineraries: the birth of cinema, with cinematographic images that show Rome in the early twentieth century, neorealism, classic cinema up to Pasolini, with the shots at the Parco degli Acquedotti and the films that tell the city of PPP and contemporary cinema, with the Romanity of Carlo Verdone and the Vespa rides of Nanni Moretti. ‘Rome city of film’ is a project of the Municipality of Rome, winner of a notice from the Ministry of Tourism for Unesco funds for the cinematographic tourism promotion of the Capital. The contents are curated by the Fondazione Cinema per Roma, while the infrastructure is entrusted to the company Loquis.
Guendalina Salimei will curate the Italian Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice. Architect, professor of Architectural Design at Sapienza University in Rome and founder of T-Studio, Salimei was selected by the Mic commission chaired by Angelo Piero Cappello with a project entitled ‘Terrae aquae. Italy and the intelligence of the sea’. “Guendalina Salimei’s proposal focuses on the urgency of the sea as an original humus and common destiny, as a nomadic opportunity, a mobile frontier, an interior landscape of man that redesigns liquid architecture and submerged cities. The soul of Venice that contains its ever-living body”, said the Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, who chose the project from among the three finalists.
‘Cinematica’ returns to the Marche, the festival dedicated to the moving image that has its trademark in the multidisciplinarity and transversality of languages. With a preview on October 26 and 27 between Ancona and Jesi, the festival is scheduled from October 31 to November 3 in Ancona. With the theme ‘Morir dal ridere’ on the bill there will be a proposal of visual, filmic and performing arts dedicated to the exploration of the tragicomic theme. Among the events, shows and workshops with choreographers and dancers such as Giorgio Rossi and Compagnia Tardito/Rendina, the young and acclaimed company Panzetti/Ticconi, a tribute to Ugo Tognazzi with guest his son and director Ricky Tognazzi, and the author Arianna Porcelli Safonov. ‘Inferenze Short Film Festival – Refractions from the real’ lands in Nola (Na) for the VI edition that will take place at the Archaeological Museum of Ancient Nola until Sunday 27 October, with the grand finale entrusted to the exceptional testimonial Peppe Lanzetta. This year, works with top-notch protagonists will be screened, such as Bella Ramsey with the short ‘Villain’ distributed by Promofest, but there will also be well-known faces from the national scene, such as Carolina Crescentini, protagonist of the short ‘Benzina’ by Daniel Daquino, or Francesco Serpico, protagonist of ‘ARcTICHOKE – A mermaid not a punk’, directed by Salvatore Rocco. Each evening will deal with themes related to contemporary reality, such as work that no longer ennobles man, the objectification of the body through social media and prostitution, artificial intelligence and its consequences.
